Hearts&Mines Play For $10,000
Hey Everyone!
As most of you know, last year’s LiVE 88.5 Big Money Shot made us $5,000 richer, allowed us to go on a small tour, record an album and hook you up with some great t-shirts. This year, we have already won $10,000 and on Thursday, September 8th 2011 we will be playing to double our winnings! Want to help out? Here’s what you can do:
1- Join us at the LiVE Lounge main stage (Capital CIty Music Hall) on September 8th and tell them you are with the Hearts&Mines Army. Enjoy a great night of music!
2- Go to the Live 88.5 facebook page and like it. Then click on the ‘Videos’ tab, find our new song ‘Enough of This’ and like it too. Please have your friends do the same!
3- Keep spreading the word about Hearts&Mines. Everything helps. If you love our music and our message, don’t keep it to yourself!
All of these things will make a big difference for us and we really appreciate everything you do for us! Make sure you visit our merchandise table at our shows to pick up a hard copy of our new disc as well as a Daniel Martelock designed t-shirt! They look great and now come in ladies sizes!
So, here’s what we have been up to. We have been back and forth from Toronto over the last few weeks recording, doing photo shoots, getting media advice and plain old hanging out with Two Way Monologues‘ Dan Wolovick and the Rancho Relaxo‘s Adam Wagner. Great people! We recorded a song with Terry Brown who has produced Rush, Alannah Myles, The Who, MGB and many other great Canadian and international acts. We had a great time with him and Russ Mackay and we look forward to future projects with them. We spent a day at Dave Beatty’s studio (Fefe Dobson, Nelly Furtado). Our photos turned out great and we look forward to sharing them with you! We made great friends and contacts and are super excited about what the future has in store for us!
This contest has done wonders for us and the Ottawa music scene. We are so grateful for everything we have been offered, given and for all of which we have worked so hard. We have found great friends in all the bands, especially The Love Machine and Liam Lloyd. Please, support all local music and check them out!
Thank you for your continued support. We love you and need you just as much as you love us. Together, we can make history.
